DK: With the rain from yesterday gone, the feeling is right for racing here at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve! Hello, everyone, I'm Dave Knight and joining me is NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip. The skies have cleared and we are about to fire up the engines for the Molson 130 in Montreal!
DW: We're north of the border at this historic facility and it's about to get wild, Dave!
DK: And with that, the opening ceremonies are complete and we'll go trackside with our Grand Marshal, 2-time Stanley Cup winner and Quebec native, Mario Lemieux!
ML: Drivers, start your engines!
Green Flag
DW: Boogity boogity boogity! Let's go road racin'!
DK: And Ken Wallace with a great start as they pile into the first turn and immediately whip to the right in Virage Senna. He's got about a car length over Kim Johnson.
DW: And Dude Watson just picked off 2 spots heading into 3.
DK: Kim Johnson's keeping the 26 in her sights as they round towards turn 6, another sharp left hander. Wallace holds her off out of 7.
DW: Back in the pack we've got some shuffling too. Sheldon Hatterfield has reeled in the Watson but he's got a mirrorful of the 1 car of Steve Hutson.
DK: And they're bumper to bumper but everyone maintains position. A little bit of clean contact there, DW. Meanwhile, up front, the leaders ease their way through turn 10. Wallace still has the lead as they now sail through turn 11 and a soft right through 12 onto the Casino Straight. He's still got about a car length advantage as they brake for turns 13 and 14. Smooth transition and Ken Wallace will come to the line to lead the first of 48 laps.
Lap 9
DW: And we've got a car around in 10! The 46 of Sealey is off the track.
DK: No caution as he re-fires his Pontiac. He's off and away but a huge loss of track position for the former champion.
Lap 24
DW: We're almost to halfway and Dude Watson has chased down the 42c of Kim Johnson. She's on the inside of 5 but that's gonna open the door for the Dude in 6.
DK: And they go door to door. Watson's Buick with the slight advantage into 7. Johnson in the Chevrolet standing her ground and maintaning about a fender over the 00.
Lap 29
DK: And we've got 2 more cars off the track. That's the 6 of Rattlecan Dan and the 23 of Keith Wallace.
DW: That 10th turn has been treacherous today. We've had several cars run a bit wide.
DK: Indeed, Darrell. Wallace and Dan straighten out their machines and are off once again.
Lap 39
DK: Now Watson, who put Kim Johnson in his rear view a lap and a half ago, begins reeling in the Chevy of Ken Wallace. He's gained a few tenths just in the last half of a lap.
DW: It seems like he's able to run just a little deeper into each chicane. He's chipping away at that lead.
White Flag
DK: And Watson passes Wallace just after the line as we now have one more trip around Circuit Gilles Villeneuve! Watson has the inside in turn 1, Wallace hung out to dry a bit. He's going to keep the 00 honest though and draw up within feet of his bumper.
DW: And Watson still looks like he's able to let off just a tad later in these tight corners. He's opening the lead and closing the door like a man on a mission. He's been extremely fast in practice but has had to claw his way to the front from 6th. As he comes out of turn 7, he's going to have a huge advantage. The 26 of Wallace slipping a little. He maintains control but Watson is getting smaller and smaller in the windshield. Out of turn 9 into the final hairpin. He's not gaining or losing, he's just maintaining the gap. No pressure from behind.
DW: This has been a heck of a run for that team. They've got 2 top 5s but 3 last place finishes, 2 from DNF's.
DK: That's not going to be the case today as he wheels his Buick out of turn 14. Dude Watson earns his 2nd career victory in the Molson 130 in Montreal!

DK: And with that, we wrap things up here in Montreal. Amy Hilton with only an 8 point lead over Ken Wallace heading into the Champion Spark Plugs 300 at Homestead-Miami. We also have a 5 point Best in Show bonus to award. For Darrell Waltrip, I'm Dave Knight. Thank you for joining us and we'll see you next week as we crown our 2026 Fantasy Cup Series champion.
