Read on Twitter tonight that Bobby Allen passed away. Knoxville Nationals champion, team owner of Shark Racing - 1s of Logan Schuchardt and 1a of Ashton Torgerson, the original 1a "Shark"...

you will be missed Scruffy.

Not sure, hadn't heard anything about that. He was 81 years old. Think he was still traveling with the teams.

there are some nice tributes to him on the WoO facebook page. the man did more with less than anyone in sprint car racing.

i always thought that Jacob was his son (due to him and Bobby's ages) and Logan was his nephew... turns out that Jacob was his son (Bobby was around 50 when Jacob was born... old man still getting after it ;D  :o ) and Logan was his grandson, making Jacob the uncle and Logan his nephew.  wild...

i am hoping that a Bobby Allen tribute decal and shirt will be made and sold at the 1s and 1a trailers this upcoming year or during the rest of this year... i'd be down for one of each.
