Evening y'all

I am about to start on a Salvinos monte carlo. I'm doing the square headlight option and i test fitted the area above the grille, i suppose the nose of the car, and the area above the rear bumper (tail i guess?) and there are some fitment issues.

Is there a basic fix for this that someone can give me, as in is this a common problem that is with the kit that everyone has to try and fix.

Thanks in advance

And Merry Christmas

Don't know if there is a way to access the old content on Randy Ayers old site, but someone did a build up showing the modifications they made. Ayers new deal is on Facebook, maybe it's there. I know you need to really rework those horrible tail lights.

Just for clarity, are you referring to the 70s or the 80s MC?

I am making a 1980 square headlight version.

Given your question, did Salvino's make a Monte Carlo kit that wasn't from the "Bertha" era/style? Unfamiliar with it if they did.

I glued the front and rear sections in place and have a selection of strip and rod to fill gaps. Suppose i will do a WiP of my attempts at fixing it.

They reproduced the early Monogram Monte Carlo SS and Aerocoupes.

Duh... i was thinking you were implying older than what i am working on, not newer.

Dave, I think Salvino's does make a mid 70's era Monte Carlo, round and square headlights. They share the same generic, 2 piece chassis as the Dodge kits have. Personally I'm passing.

When you said you were building a 1980 Monte Carlo, the teams were still using the 1977 body then. Only one or two independents ever ran a true 1980 body. In '81 they downsized and used the body styles of the Monogram kits until the Lumina came out.

They did do some kits for the MCs they ran from 1977-1980 and at Riverside in '81. Mike actually has them available on his site.

Not to sound like an @sshole here but this thread has really digressed. Started with me asking about mods to fix a Salvinos MC and it turns to verifying the existence of a kit i have on my work table...

The car i am building was run in 1980 so that's where i got that from.
