this is going to be the #1s Drydene sprint car of Logan Schuchart.  basic Saldana #71 Revellogram kit.  did some chassis work to make it more updated than the 1980s Challenger chassis that was provided in the kit. ended up looking that the Triple X chassis website for a pic of a bare chassis and worked it off that.  wheels from SWS Chassis and tires from Modelhaus.

i noticed in the pics that i must have taken them at a weird angle, the chassis looks warped... it actually does sit flat.

got the chassis and wing plates painted, used Tamiya racing blue plus dullcoat.  it is supposed to match the color of the stripes and numbers. looks pretty close to me.  maybe just a touch darker than the decals.

the wing board decals are going to have to be trimmed, they are too large left to right and top to bottom.

got some decal work done today.  looks like the contingencies are going to overlap the sponsors, not a good look in the end IMO.  the Brad Sweet #49 Napa decals were like this too, just not to such an extreme.  not sure if the producers of this decal tried to size it up after it was printed or not, the contingencies are too long to use in once piece, they will overflow around the edges of the wing... at least on the right side.  i cut them into sections to try and reduce the space they occupy a little bit, hopefully it helps.

there is a post on Model Cars Magazine forum where someone built one of these cars, the decals fit much better on that one, i can only assume the builder used SWS Chassis stuff to build it and those components are bigger.  it's definitely not a 100% Revellogram kit.  wonder if the designer of these decals sized them around SWS stuff.  i know that the Ace sprint car sheets tend to have additional decals and say something to the effect of "if you use SWS chassis" to build it use these different sized decals, which is printed on the instruction sheet.

here is the link if anyone is curious about that build-

anyway, enough rambling, here is the stuff i worked on today

did a minor wing shave on the right side wing

those 2 panels with the NGK logos i cut from styrene sheet, they go around the engine; got the shape from the Triple X product pages on their website.

got some wing work done, just need to do the wing supports for the right side board.  decal fit wasn't as bad as i thought it would be... wasn't great (too big IMO) but they worked.  also printed out some engine builder valve cover logos too.

I like it Dave. They're big, but the fit isn't terrible. I'm kinda missing Ron White though.

Thanks Steve. Yeah, the fit isn't too bad. I sectioned the contingencies and trimmed what blank area there was to get them closer together.

Ron White is a classic, but that Brad K. commercial is the funniest thing i have seen in a long time. Literally made me laugh out loud.

I remember that commercial, it was funny. I was just messing with you about Ron White although I do love his stand up.

I have another pic/meme to put up, eventually, that i think is pretty funny too. But y'all will have to wait a little while. Hope the suspense doesn't get to anyone ;)

This one is taking a little more time than most of my sprint car builds, have a few things that i have to make a decision about... like the interior of the body panels are black or carbon fiber, not sure if i want to attempt carbon fiber decals or not. Front suspension rods are going to hook into the body work i cut because the panels cover the mounting pins, plus those pins were cut off when i modified the chassis.

So there's that... i'll figure it out, always seem to.
