Been away from the build a few days but got back to it yesterday. Putting epoxy putty on the sides of the left front tire.

MarkJ

Some more work on the left front tire. This time I drilled holes where the epoxy putty goes so it pushes through the holes and makes the putty stick better to the tire. really speeds up the process.

Started working on the right front tire.

MarkJ

Drilled holes in the sides of the tires so the epoxy putty gets pushed through the holes and sticks better to the tire. finally got both sides of the tire puttied so just need to add the tread part of the tire and then sand and smooth the sides out to finish this last tire.

Got some more done and now have 4 tires. I plan to use my dremel tool to spin up the tires and use a sanding stick to smooth and shape all 4 of them.

Thanks, Sid and Steve. It's finally starting to look promising that I can get these tires and wheels finished and looking good enough to continue with the build. That's why I started with the wheels and tires first. Without them the rest of the model doesn't matter.

Some more work on the tire and wheel

Thanks, Dave. Since I posted these last pictures, I am down to just one spoke and I'm hoping the weather will allow me to go outside and try the Dremel lathe out on a tire. I hope there are no unforeseen problems using it like having a tire explode or come flying off the lathe into my face. I guess I should wear some protective gear while doing it. I might have bit off more than I can chew with this setup.
