I dremeled the tires as far as I could to reveal the low spots indicated where you see the old tread. I will fill these areas with epoxy putty and re Dremel tool the tires to make them smooth and round enough to add tread to them . I will use pinking sheer scissors to make the tread.

Finally, dremeled the tires for the last time and they are pretty round now. Just need to add some tread to them and putty to the sides to get them smooth. Really be glad when the tires and wheels are finally finished.

Finally found photos of the tires and wheels when they were not in motion so I have something to look at when making my tires and the knock off hubs.

MarkJ

Started adding the pinking sheared styrene strips to emulate the tread the real car had. Not exactly the same but it has that z shaped look to it. Will need to clean it up a bit with Mr. white putty.

Here are the scissors I bought to cut the serrated strips to get them narrow enough to fit between the center strip of the tire and the outside edge of the tire. they are very hard and also adjustable for a tight cut of the plastic strips

Still working on the tread. Wont post anymore pictures till I get the tire and the wheel ready for paint. The tread is very tedious work.

MarkJ

Got the tread mostly finished and added some putty to the sides of the tire to smooth it down some more.

I have the tire as smooth as I can get it and working on the wheel to get it finished so I can paint them both and see if they are good enough to continue the model. If not, there is no need to finish the other tires and wheels or continue to the body. I will just put this build aside and start a model car kit build that I know I can finish. Maybe someday I can find a kit for a 1957 f250 Maserati formula one car. So far none are available that I can find.

I know that as humans, we tend to be our own worst critics. That being said, the wheel and tire combo you've shown look great to me Mark. I wish that I had your skills and the courage (guess that's the correct word) to start a build where no kit exists. I'm amazed by each update.
