Al Shear Short Track Riviera Finished 5/5/19
« on: April 10, 2019, 11:38:45 AM »
I am using the AMT 66 chassis, shortened 2", suspension, motor, and running gear under the 65 body for nice details. THANK YOU Hemiman for the wonderful decals!

I know Red Swanberg drove the one on top but I don;t know who drove the Hembrough cars? Get crackin' Slim! These will be cool!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

Both the other cars were driven by Al Shear from South Beloit Illinois. Al was the winner of the First Stock Car Race at Soldier Field in 1950 or 51 the Race was put on by GranCor Racing owners of GranGor were the Granatelli Brothers Andy, Vince and Joe. Al also had a son that raced a little his name was Joe. Anyway the #61 was driven by Al at Freeport Raceway in 65 the #4 car was run at Rockford and Capitol weekly and a couple of Chicago area tracks for big weekday show if he was not running one of the other tracks.. hay Slim I still need your address

Wow that looks Great Slim I hope the decals where easy for you to use. I, like you, love these types of builds. I did these decals mostly so I could do the car myself but I decided to list them as well and to my great surprise they are selling very well all over the country and the world I sold some to customers in England, Germany and Australia. To say I am shocked is an understatement.....
