its kinda funny what shows up on ones FaceBook news feed and what friends find things of yours from almost 30 years ago ... they think its cool and in a way it is .just knowing its still around somewhere in Oklahoma .  this is the #35 sprint car tail tank that I painted and lettered (money was tite just puting the car together ,ayone thats done that know what I'm talking about) for my first 100" modified that was in 1989 and it showed up this morning on FaceBook from about10 or so of my racing friends posted it so I could NOT miss it ...lol  ... funny it show up about 100 miles north of OKC where I last seen it  . for a 30 year old paint job and lettering it would look right at home on a sprint car today  don't ya think ?  LOL  sorry I had to photoshop out a name

Awesome! Isn't modern day technology great sometimes? I remember several years ago when I was relatively new to computors, I found a site about short track racing, and, bang, there was a picture of me with a checkered flag from back in 1972! I about freaked out seeing myself like that. The only ironic, sad thing about it was, it was in someone else's car! All is good, that car and  me are still around!!!

yes Rett modern day technology is great, heres a photo that I remember was taken in the spring of 1970 . my brother Wes is setting in the car and Dad in his red drivers jacket I'm the little guy in front of the right rear tire . both Wes and I have looked for this photo for years when Mom left Dad she didn't take any of his racing pics a little over 10 years ago a family friend gave Wes this photo said he's had it all these years and thought about giving one of us the photo but we never were at the same tracks as Bob was . anyway Bob gave it to wes and Wes sent it to me over the oie interweb ..lol

then a few years ago like you I was looking at one of the OKC speedway sites and some one post this piece from a program that had our Dad as the driver of the week for parr auto parts and Dad set a new track record .... that I didn't remember him doing , Dad was fast and smooth always a top 5 car , but with 5 kids never had top dollar stuff but to find things like this piece from a program I damn near had a tear in my eyes

the odd things people post on those old speedway sites

Not much of a fan of today's technology only in the sense that we humans tend to ruin everything that starts out good (and much of the new Tech we have done just that). I am however a huge fan of these kinds of historic family treasures! All good Jim!
Agreed!
