Final Issue -- Scale Auto
« on: September 20, 2020, 07:48:39 PM »
They said it will be Oct 2020.  Usually, one would get that the  first of the month preceding the cover date.  I have not gotten mine.  Has anyone else received theirs yet ?
Look to the Lord and His strength -  Seek His face always.

I got mine early last week.  It is a pretty good issue with several how-to's on painting.  I had heard there was a printing issue and it would be delayed a month or so, but I got mine about the time I expected it.  Also received my first issue of Model Railroader, requested that over Fine Scale Modeler.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

I called them earlier this month and was told that the last SA would not go out in the mail until near the end of Sept.....

Got mine a couple days ago and waiting to see how the merge of my Fine Scale Modeler subscription and this one pan out. I'll be good for a couple more years.

So ..................    I called SA, and the nice lady said they are delayed due to a printing problem.  And that they hope to have them all delivered by October 15.  And that if I do not receive mine by then to please call them back.

And I told her that I would do that very thing.
Look to the Lord and His strength -  Seek His face always.

Maybe yours will have more information and be a better issue than the first ones off the press like the one I got.  Would be interesting to know exactly what the printing issue was.

For those who canceled their subscription to SA/Fine Scale Modeler, be glad you did. Just got what sounds like my last issue of FSM....
ONE article on  painting techniques of a Revell AAR Barracuda
Shows a pic HEMI valve covers and explaining that one needs to scrape the chrome off where the valve covers are attached to the engine. BUT they did not use those valve covers! As the valve covers used are not chromed, but pained to match the engine.....dud bit wire or plumb the engine....basically built right out of the box...
It is the only article concerning cars..
Are only TEN articles on military themed projects....!
Of 4 pages of new products. there are only TWO 1/24th scale cars shown: One from Italeri and the other from Airfix...
No ads from Round2/AMT or Revell.....
Wonder if R2 felt that taking out a full page ad like they did with SA was no longer warranted....
Only one car kit reviewed, that being a Lancia Delta Sf '86 San Remo Rally, manufactured by NuNu, nunumodelkit.com

So, needless to say the 2 or 3 FSM mags I got as the tail end of my SA subscription did NOT warrant re-subscribing!
For me to even think about subscribing to FSM, they are going to have t show me that they do 50/50 split of FSM/SA on kit reviews, announcements and aritcles....which we all know will NOT happen.....and even then, it would be a hard sell for me to subscribe to FSM...

My opinions only....
